Breaking Bad – Chapter 9, Prologue, Strip 18

I guess the more we learn about Mopey’s past (directly or indirectly), the closer we get to being able to nail down the origin of her various mental defects. By now we already know that she’s shown behavioral deviance at a pretty early age – but today’s first panel makes it abundantly clear that her teacher and mentor also was a very, very bad influence on her… …uh, I mean that her teacher and mentor inspired her with a life-long passion for exploration and the expansion of knowledge. For which lever-pulling is absolutely crucial, anyway, so what’s the harm in enjoying it on the side? >_> (Almost went off the script here).

As for the experiment itself…well, I guess the outcome is what anybody would have expected to begin with. I wouldn’t call it an inevitable outcome, but it definitely had a higher chance of happening than any other potential outcome.

Not sure what happened to panel five. Possibly some kind of technical issue? Too bad, that panel was actually kinda important for the plot. *whistlesinnocently*

And the last panel seems to have suffered a similar technical problem. The picture is there, but the sound effect is missing. But it’s possible that it was simply too loud for my system. It was supposed to be and earth-shaking sigh…by Snuka, at the sight of what has happened to the lab he just restored at the price of almost-his-life. It’s not like he hasn’t been resigned to his fate for a long time, already, but the sighing isn’t covered by that.

More on Thursday.
