That's... both clever and incredibly dumb at the same time. Shocked

On one hand, this is not something i could have figured out on my own, since i was... y'know, expecting a original character, not someone from a different game entirely. (But i suppose this is the Advent Children Cloud. Back to emo moping with him.)

On the other hand, Sephi is already in the party, which is pretty blatant by itself, but i still would have considered him a oneshot, purely there for a one-off Mopey-related joke.

That being said, i kinda like how Sephi is just basking in the emo blather, letting it lull him to sleep. Smile

...but on the third hand, now i really notice just how out of character any of this is for both Sephi/Cloud and that we now established that anything goes. Tifa is probably not that far off and Aeris might be the right hand of Cloud, just for Sephi stabbing (subversion?) purposes. >_>

So this is... odd. But at least it's sufficiently nonsensical for a B-movie. Supremely so, in fact. Now i wonder how Nolan got these two as actors. (To get back to that particular fact. The halmark of a good b-movie... every answer raises six more questions; never to be answered. Like, this being Cloud, wouldn't Sephi have recognized him by the voice?)

How are you enjoying work at the nuclear plant these days?

Uh...the metal mask distorted his voice? Or perhaps it even has an electronic voice distortion feature integrated. Or perhaps Cloud's voice changed after their last meeting, because that one Supernova to the crotch finally caused Cloud's testicles to descend. Laughing

Ironically, and I know, being out of character is the bread and butter of the B-movie comic, especially for your own created characters, but Cloud as he exists is the opposite of emo. Yes, he wallows in his emotional turmoil, but he doesn't ever want to let anyone actually see it. He wants to hold it all inside and not let anyone know he's got an issue. Emo, at its heart, is all about the outpour of those, as Captain Emo accurately describes.

Also, I lost track of the comic over the last several months, but I would like to state that I was seriously expecting Cloud to be Cap Emo, just because of the sheer absurdity of it all, and that is what I read this strip for, in the end.

Well, that would be true from the internal perspective - but as fictional character, Cloud is still an emo character, because the audience sees him wallowing in his emotional turmoil. Just like Batman is a conflicted character, as the audience knows, even if it's safe to assume that hardly anybody in his world has any idea he is.

I readily believe you - in fact, I thought he was a rather obvious choice and was worried that all of the red herrings wouldn't help. Especially given how obviously the red herrings were red herrings. Laughing

Struth, but while he's an emotional character, he still shows no traits pegging him into the emo subculture, apart from having the emotion. It just sorta bugs me when conflicted yet recitent characters are called Emo. It's a pet peeve. Granted, this is comedy, and comedy under the guise of '"ritten as 'serious film' by complete hack" so it fits perfectly here.

Now, Genesis, that dude's emo through and through.

My other thoughts for Cap Emo were, that he was Prof's long lost son (Not discounting also being Cloud), or Prof's younger evil time travel self/ Shinzon esque clone. Because those were also equally silly, but I figured you were holding onto Sephypoo for a reason.

I admit that Cloud isn't a real classical emo character...although that also depends partly on the incarnation, the Kingdom Hearts version of Cloud comes pretty close to it...but the important thing for me was that he was emotionally disturbed enough to fit the mantle of "Captain Emo", since I had already settled on that name earlier. Laughing
